🌿 Rooted Reflections: My First Steps into Nutrition Coaching
✨ Brick by brick, habit by habit — that’s how real change takes root.

Hi everyone! 🌞 I’ve been extremely busy and booked. I’m so excited to share that a few weeks ago, I officially started my nutrition coaching sessions as part of my Advanced Counseling class (Hi Professor E!) — and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite parts of the semester.
Check out my snazzy little blurb!

As many of you know, I’m currently working toward becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and this course is all about bridging science with real, human connection. I’ve been matched with clients and have the opportunity to coach them on nutrition and lifestyle areas they want to improve, things like staying hydrated, adding more fruits and vegetables, reducing processed foods, and building consistency in daily habits.
But what makes this experience truly special isn’t just the science, it’s the people. I meet with my client for three 30-minute sessions, and during that time, my goal isn’t to prescribe or judge or tell anyone what to do or how to do it. Instead, I create space for them to tap into their own strengths and talk through what health looks like for them. Sometimes that means setting a goal, and sometimes it means acknowledging that they’re not quite ready yet, and that’s perfectly okay.
In today’s world, we’re swimming in oceans of nutrition information. Everyone’s heard “nuts are healthy,” but for someone with a nut allergy or sensitivity, that advice could do more harm than good. That’s why I believe nutrition must always be personalized, inclusive, and flexible. There’s no one-size-fits-all plan, only guidance rooted in evidence, empathy, and understanding.
For me, this coaching journey is a partnership and exploration about what’s sustainable for my clients. Brick by brick, habit by habit, goal by goal, we build a foundation for health together, not through fleeting willpower, but through consistency, compassion, and small, meaningful actions that grow over time. Accomplishing small goals equals big wins.
Because when we feel seen, supported, and heard, that’s when real change takes root. 🌱

Starting this journey as a student nutrition coach has reminded me that listening is just as powerful as providing nutrition education. Every person’s story matters, and every small step counts.
If you’ve ever worked with a nutrition coach (or even tried to coach yourself through a change), what helped you stay consistent? Let’s keep growing and learning together.
Stay rooted,
