Hi, I'm Adrienne Limqueco

My Story

My journey with food started in my family’s kitchen, standing beside my mom, a proud Louisiana Creole woman, learning how to cook, connect, and celebrate through food. My husband’s Filipino background has only deepened my appreciation for how culture and tradition shape our relationships with food and health.

I originally set out to become an RDN, but curiosity led me to study Food Science and Technology with a focus on food microbiology. I even spent time working in a food lab, testing products for safety, but something was missing. I realized that while I love science, my true calling has always been nutrition and working directly with people.

My journey as a non-traditional student wasn’t straightforward; I’ve taken a slow and steady pace, sometimes getting lost but always finding my way. After a failed attempt at community college, I shut the door on it in frustration. I felt embarrassed, inadequate, and angry at myself for not being “smart enough”. It wasn’t intelligence I was lacking; I just didn’t know what I didn’t know. I got organized and returned to the starting line, better prepared and ready to face my fears and insecurities.

That’s where I am today: I’ve completed a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), and this fall, 2025, I’ll be starting my master’s program in Nutritional Science at Cal State L.A. My ultimate goal is to blend evidence-based nutrition with culturally relevant care, ensuring I can provide science you can trust, culture you can taste and community you can feel.
