It’s been a minute since my last post. I originally planned to share weekly updates and even created a detailed 17-week content calendar to keep myself on track. But you know that saying—make plans, and God laughs.

Life has been busy. From Monday through Thursday, my days stretch to 16 hours between work and school. Thankfully, school is going well. There are plenty of papers to write, but I don’t mind because writing has always been therapeutic for me. It’s a bonus that my assignments let me dive into nutrition journal articles, which I look forward to sharing in future posts.

Despite the long days, I’ve finally found my rhythm. Balancing school, work, and well-being has been a lot like playing Double Dutch—standing on the sidelines, waiting for the right moment to jump in while the ropes keep turning, up and down, alternating in opposite directions from sky to ground. It took time, but I’ve found my footing, my rhythm, and my pattern—the steady beat that keeps everything moving.

  1. Set Boundaries – Protect your personal time by saying no when needed and unplugging from work/school after certain hours.

  2. Use a Calendar or Planner – Keep track of deadlines, appointments, and self-care time so nothing sneaks up on you.

  3. Batch Similar Tasks – Group activities like meal prep, errands, or studying into set time blocks to increase efficiency.

  4. Stay Flexible – Life doesn’t always stick to the plan; adapt when necessary without being too hard on yourself.

  5. Lean on Your Support System – Family and friends can offer perspective, encouragement, and laughter when you need it most.

  6. Celebrate Small Wins – Acknowledge progress, whether it’s finishing an assignment early or carving out 20 minutes to relax.

What’s helped me most is staying organized, planning where I can, and learning to go with the flow when life doesn’t go according to plan. Just as important, I carve out time for solitude and reflection, while also surrounding myself with friends and family who give me strength and encouragement.

If all goes accordingly, I'll have a new post next week. In the meantime, here are 6 tips for finding your rhythm.
